COVID-19 Response & Webinar Information

Message from the President

Fellow NCSITE Members – What a crazy time we are living in! Many aspects of our work and life are rapidly changing in efforts to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As we deal with these serious, temporary, and unprecedented changes to how we work, we are also seeing many changes within the Transportation industry such as reduced traffic volumes, redesignated curb zones for takeout service, expanded construction work areas, shifts in approaches to public outreach, and many more.

As NCSITE, we are also responding with changes in how we best serve our Members and stay connected, such as:

  • Virtual TEC and TPC Meetings – Even the Social aspects of these meetings are now virtual in order to provide opportunities for Members to connect even if we can’t be in the same conference room or social gathering.

  • “Back to the Basics” webinars – Special thanks to Vice President Joe Hummer and others at NCDOT for coordinating with Sarah Wicklund and the TEC to offer the “Back to the Basics” webinars every Tuesday afternoon. See the links below to add these to your calendar.

  • Increased Webinars – With most of us working from home and limiting our travel, we can take advantage of more learning opportunities. Several webinars by NCSITE and our partner organizations are listed below for you to take advantage of. We intend to keep this list updated for as long as the majority of staff are working from home.

Please reach out to me or anyone else on the Board if you have concerns that we may be able to assist with, or if you have other innovative ideas on ways that NCSITE can respond to our state’s COVID-19 impacts. And, please plan to join each other at the TEC/TPC Meetings, Socials, Webinars, and other Virtual events.
