Membership in NCSITE is what you make it. Our organization is geared to serve our members by providing events and activities to enhance professional competency, develop leadership skills, and promote fellowship within our field. Primarily, NCSITE offers numerous training and meeting opportunities throughout the year to help you obtain PDH and CM credits towards your license. The section also offers mentoring opportunities with transportation veterans to new professionals through our biennial leadership program. On the lighter side, our members often gather in more informal settings to “make ITe funner” over food and drink while networking and sharing project stories.
But the heart of NCSITE is our four councils. The Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Councils provide technical training opportunities across the state and sponsor our Mid-Year and Annual Meetings. The Consultant/Vendor Council ensures that vendors and consultants are involved in and support NCSITE activities, as well as raise funds through sponsorships and golf tournaments to support our scholarship fund. This year our organization will award $14,000 through seven scholarships to very deserving individuals in our student chapters. Our final Council is the Strategic Initiatives Council. This Council is made up of senior transportation professionals that focus on topics such as leadership development, legislative issues, public education, and strategic planning issues.
