NCDOT Signal Timing Manual

Speaker: Jennifer Portanova, NCDOT Central Office System Timing (COST) Section
Description: Jennifer will discuss the latest version of the new NCDOT Signal Timing Manual for use by practitioners in both state, municipal, and private agencies.

Signal Analysis Made Easy – Bringing Back-of-the-Envelope Back
Speaker: Bastian Schroeder, Kittelson and Associates
Description: Bastian will present an overview of the new planning-level signal analysis method in the HCM 6th Edition, and the HCM Planning and Preliminary Engineering Application Guide. The method allows back-of-the-envelope signal capacity analysis, without software!

NCDOT Guidelines and Review Process – Present and Future
Speaker: Mike Reese, Jim Dunlop NCDOT; Gavin Teng, Accelerate Engineering
Description: The three speakers will discuss the latest NCDOT guidelines for Traffic Impact Analyses, discuss TIA guidelines and scoping and review process, and design guidelines.
