The Administrative Council serves the membership by focusing on topics such as leadership development, legislative Issues, public education and strategic planning initiatives. Some of the initiatives the Council expects to pursue during the calendar year include:

• Distribute legislative information affecting transportation
• Suggest training related to soft skills such as mentoring, team building, media relations, etc.;
• Assist with engagement and outreach activities from the Section to help enhance the perception of Transportation Professionals;
• Conduct sessions at local meetings, annual meeting, and Mid-Year Meeting; and
• Serve as liaison to partner groups including NC Go!

2009 Goals:

The Administrative Council promotes efforts to foster leadership development, soft skills training, transportation profession advocacy, networking, communications and activities to identify and address strategic and emerging issues for the transportation profession. The Council focuses on senior and mid-level managers in the profession and those who aspire to a management role. All Council events and meetings are open to any member of NCSITE.

The goals for the year include the following:

• Conduct two Administrative Council Meetings
• Direct NCSITE Mentor Program
• Develop the Administrative Track of the Mid-Year and Annual Meetings and provide support for the meeting
